I really must say..

...sorry. I have been completely useless at posting these last few weeks. A combination of Christmas and feeling awfully ill has not helped :(

I hope everyone had a good Christmas! Anyone any exciting plans for New Year? I think me and my friends are just going to a local pub and spend the night getting rather merry on wine.

So, tonight I decided to dye my hair. Now, I dyed it a slight red colour last time and liked it. This time I've done it that little bit more redder. I used Loreal Paris Feria colour 3D in Plum Power (P37)

001

003

I've used the Loreal semi-permanent colours before so thought I'd try a permanent. It comes with a conditioning shine shampoo which is actually quite a big bottle and is enough for up to four washes!

004

I won't lie, when I first put it on I nearly cried! It goes on bright red and I mean BRIGHT red...think pillar box red. It does say that this should happen in the instructions and that it will calm down but it was a bit of a shock at first! So after 30 minutes of watching it slowly turn a less vibrant shade of red it was time to rinse it off. Let's just say washing it off very much resembled the shower scene from Psycho!! Ha, not good! Mother bears white shower curtain will never look the same again, oops.

My hair is now silky soft and a lovely dark red colour :) I shall have to post pictures tomorrow when the lighting is better as you just won't get the full colour effect now. Plus I'm sat here with a head full of rollers looking hawt ;)

Just a quick post to say thank you to IKWYWTS! for featuring me on their blog....it's one of my favourite blogs so chuffed I'm on it :)

Eyeko...

So, I've never used any Eyeko products but I've seen a lot on other blogs about them so thought I'd give them a go. I went onto their website and found myself wanting so much! So in the end I decided on Vampira Polish and thought I'd try the 'Suprise Bag' they had on offer (unfortunately I can't find it any more on the website so guess it must have ended!). The Suprise Bag cost £10 and you were guaranteed £20 worth of products :)

I was impressed with how quickly they arrived especially with all this snow! I only placed my order on Thursday and they came this morning. So I'll start off with the nail varnish. I wanted something a bit Gothic to go with my outfit for tonight and this was perfect

002

It's a black with a blood red shimmer going through and it looks really good on! Also it goes on really nicely, not too runny or too thick and I only needed one coat, so for £3.50 I'll defiantly be trying out other colours :)

007
(This picture doesn't do it justice but it really is a nice colour!)

Next the surprise bag

001

As I said before it cost £10 and you got £20 worth of items inside...obviously pot luck but I like the fact you never know what you're going to get ;)

001

Inside I received one of these London Lip Glosses in Shorditch and is worth £13.

006

It goes on nicely, it does feel a little bit thick and sticky at first but once you've applied it, it has a nice smooth, soft feeling. It also smells really lovely too!

Next is Cheeky Colour Blush Duo in Glow Getter and is worth £8. It comes in cute little packaging too :)

005

004

It goes on really lightly and gives you a nice pinky glow that you can use in both summer and winter. Also it's perfect for either day or night wear and it's not too heavy or powdery :)

Last Item I received was this Magic Bronzer Blush in Rio worth £5.

003

Now normally I don't use bronzer, well actually I've never used it! So this is the perfect chance to give it a go. I've not had chance to use this yet but when I do I'll let you all know how it went :)

So, for £10 I got £26 worth of products, really was a bargin!!

Blast from the past..

You ever have it when you've not listened to a song for ages and when you do it brings back great memories?! These songs are doing that right now :)

Poorly sick

I'm in bed poorly sick :( I have this stupid cold/sinusitis...I wish it would go! I rocked up to work only to be told to go home 10 minutes later..boo :(
So am currently in bed with hot chocolate and Muppet Christmas Carol on, starting to feel very festive :)

the-muppet-christmas-carol

This has to be one of my favourite Christmas films...although Love actually has to be my absolute favourite! This is the best scene from it, always makes me cry...'To me you are perfect'

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

So who's had snow? We've had a little bit about a couple of inches or so. Thankfully we've got off lightly and not had as much as some places.

003x

The snow has given me a good excuse to wear wellies again...super comfy and super warm :)

I also had to buy some gloves, my hands just aren't up to surviving this freezing cold weather! So I bought these mittens from River Island for £12.99...cosy and cute!

004

005

I've been reading on quite a few blogs about Eyeko and wondered what people though about it? After nosing on the website I've already got a bit of a list of things I'd like to try, here's just a few..

Any other recommendations for products would be muchly appreciated :)

A night on the tiles...

So I'm off out again, for cocktails and drunken dancing :) I feel quite glam in the outfit so I though I'd share...

Coat: Primark
Dress: Topshop
Tights: Topshop
Wedges: New Look

I'm in love with this fur coat...a bargin for £21 from Primark!

Hair mare!

I am having a right hair mare at the moment! It's just so blah. I'm trying to grow it and it feels like it's taking forever :( I can't decide what to do with my fringe either, I like having a full fringe but it's just too much as it constantly needs trimming or I end up looking like the dulux dog! So I've opted for a long sweeping side fringe :)
Also fancied a change of hair colour! Believe it or not this time last year I was still actually blonde

20453_275680517022_502232022_3799538_4892607_s

One day when I went to get my highlights done and just decided to go dark 5 minutes before my appointment! And I actually can't imagine being blonde now. I think a year later my mum is finally starting to like it! It's much easier to colour it myself and cheaper too, £100 for cut and highlights is way too expensive to pay every other month. Now I just colour it myself and get a trim every now again. Plus my hair is in much better condition now it's not being bleached to death :)

So I decided to have a change of colour and try this

010

I always use L'oreal semi-permanent colours and they always come out really nice, plus the little conditioner you get makes my hair feel super soft. I also bought a really great product from the hairdressers yesterday...they always use it on my hair and it's good for getting that messed up look. It's Schwarzkopf Oasis+ Dust It

016

You sprinkle a little bit on your roots and basically just mess up you hair. It works really well and was only £12 :) It will last forever too as you only need to use a little bit at a time.

Here's a little outfit shot of what I was wearing last night. We had a girly night out with lot's of Rose and dancing, was fun! Although I'm paying for it today with a slight hangover :(

Sunday 21 November 2010

Oh what a night!

Last night was eventful...we had a night of Karaoke, wine and dancing as a joint birthday celebration for two of my friends. Such a funny night! Although I shouldn't be let loose near a microphone at any time :o

My singing is absolutely awful...but after two bottles of wine I think I sound better than Whitney Houston haha.

Here's a couple of pics of my outfit from last night...I am wearing shorts even though it looks like I'm really not!

The trusty old Topshop clogs, make me about 6 feet tall but so, so comfy :)

I'm like a Magpie...

I'm like a Magpie attracted to all things shiny, I should really stop buying jewellery but I can't! I love how a ring or a necklace can completely change an outfit!

I especially love Topshop jewellery, it's affordable and always has masses of choice :)
So it would have been rude of me not to pop in and have a browse...10 minutes later here's what I came out with :)

Excuse my man hands in the pictures, God didn't bless me with lovely, feminine hands unfortunately :(

002

003

006

007

I also bought these false lashes from Topshop. I tend to use the Cheryl Cole lashes from the Girls Aloud collection but I've had my eye on these for a while! And for £8 I thought I;d give them a try.

008

There perfect for a night out, the only bad thing is they don't come with glue!! Luckily Boots was at hand to solve that problem ;) I shall let you all know if they last the night.

The big knit...

How sweet are these Innocent Smoothie bottles?!

001

Too cute :)

25p from every Smoothie goes to Age UK, a charity which helps provide the elderly with support, help with heating costs, blankets and hot meals. Such a good cause, especially with the freezing conditions we get in winter and the stupidly high cost of heating these days :(

They also have competition going, all you have to do is take a photo of the hat in an amusing place and the best pictures will win lot's of Smoothie goodies...find out more at ">www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/bigknit :)

Thursday 11 November 2010

Silly me!

I completely forgot I took these photos to share with you...my memory is shockingly bad, seriously!

This is a necklace my friend bought me way back in August for my birthday and I just remembered I have it and have fallen in love with it's cuteness :) It's from a shop called Cow Vintage (http://wearecow.blogspot.com/) they have a few stores around the UK but this was bought at the shop in Manchester.

This necklace has a story theme to it with Hansel and Gretel as well as a Gingerbread Man detailing.

001

002

003

How cute is it?! :)

I also bought this lovely pair of wedges on Saturday. I've been eyeing a pair in Next for a few weeks that are £40 but they never have my size in :( Then I was in New Look and saw these black wedges and for £24.99 I couldn't not buy them! They are so comfy and look really good on :)

007

006

004

:)

Horsing around!

I appear to have dressed like a complete horse lover today! It made me chuckle, I felt like I should be in Horse & Hound ;p

Sorry about the naff'ness of the photo!

DSCN1529

Cardigan: H&M
T shirt: Urban Outfitters
Black cuf-off's: Topshop
Tights: Topshop 120 denier in black

I should really do more outfit posts and stop being lazy, obviously making them much better than this one! I still haven't got the hang of them, ha! But I promise I will try harder!

Barry M

Okay, so I've been reading a lot of reviews on Barry M Instant Nail Effects polish on quite a few Blogs and thought I would give it a go :)

I love painting my nails and doing different designs and patterns but unfortunately due to my job I can't have my nails painted, massive sad face :( Although I do sneakily put clear polish on so my nails don't feel too bare!

The Barry M website says 'Instant Nail Effects is a simple to use nail paint that creates this amazing effect on your nails in one simple stroke. Or play around with it to create different effects' (www.barrym.com)
There's also a quick tutorial video which shows you the best way to use it. I bought mine from the Barry M range at Boots for £3.49, although it says it is sold out on the website I'm sure you can still get it from places like Boots and Superdrug :)

So, all you have to do is paint your nails with your chosen colour (I've picked Topshop's Pillar Box Red) let them dry then apply a single coat of the Nail Effect over the top, trying not to overlap with each stroke. I found this bit quite tricky as I don't have the biggest nails and I'm not the neatest so trying not to overlap the strokes did prove difficult, but I got there in the end! The polish itself is quite thick and gloopy so isn't the easiest to apply but once it's on as soon as it dries the patter quickly starts to appear. And because of the way the pattern forms it doesn't have to be applied perfectly, good for messy nail painters like me ;)

DSCN1491

Finished result (sorry about the rubbish quality, the light in my house is shockingly bad!)

DSCN1501

Hm...I'm not so sure if I like it or not :s Maybe after a practise and I've got it right then I might start liking it! What do you all think? Anybody else tried it? I'd love to hear some reviews :)

Monday 1 November 2010

Pinch, punch, first of the month...

Everyone have a happy Halloween? I hope so. Mine was very drunken but fun and my costume went down well :)

We had a mini pumpkin competition and I came 3rd, yay!

004

005

006

Also a little photo of me, taken with the Hipstermatic app on my Iphone...new age fun with a vintage feel ;)

003

Sorry about the shortness of this post, I will try MUCH harder next time :)

Winter Woollies :)

It's that time again, time to get out the hats and scarves and wrap up warm against the winter chill! I decided it was time to treat myself to some new winter accessories have to say I am in love with River Islands hats and scarves :) The panda hat is especially cute...

34389_457534708577_518663577_5498377_3993196_n

After much deliberating and obviously trying on everything I decided on this one...

DSC00307

(Sorry about the rubbishness of the photo)

Practical yet stylish, I think you'll agree ;) I am loving this trend at the moment and how handy having a hat and scarf combo where the scarf is actually attached! Defiantly a good idea, especially for me who has a habit of loosing everything.

I also bought this yesterday after a friend recommended it

DSC00300

Maybelline Super Stay Colour, it claims to last up to 18 hours. I have to say it really did! I normally use Benefit Benetint Lip & Cheek Tint but I'm slowly running out and found that it doesn't always last long and you have to put lot's on to get a nice colour. So I've been on the hunt for something new, I suffer from quite dry lips and found lip sticks just look flaky and horrible on me :( But this it different it's nice and moisturising and gives a really nice colour. You apply the colour and wait for it to dry then put on the top coat. This gives it a nice gloss and makes sure it stays put. I didn't need to reapply it at all throughout the night! For £5.99 I am very impressed!

Here's the result....

DSC00298

Only problem is I'm having difficulty getting it off now! Ha, looks like I'll have permanent red lips!
