Jewelry takes people's minds off your wrinkles

Last year I treated myself to a jewellery making kit in the hope of making all kinds of fabulous jewellery. Unfortunately it lay forgotten about under my bed collecting far too much dust :s

Until today that is! I had an urge to give it a go again. So I made a trip to Hobby Craft and picked up a few extra things....Okay this may sound awfully sad but there is something about wandering the isles of Hobby Craft that excites me and makes me smile lot's. Maybe it's the crafty person inside of me trying to escape with joy at me being in there or maybe I am just sad, haha.
And here it all is in it's glory, my little collection of beads and shiny things :)

Now I fully admit I am hardly the most creative person but I like to give it a go, so hopefully after a bit more practice I will actually get quite good at this jewellery making malarky :)
(Excuse the rubbish photos but I managed to break the SD card for my camera so had to use my Iphone!)

If all the world's a stage, I want to operate the trap door

Thank you to a Miss LLYMLRS, after reading about YAYER on her blog it is now my new fave online shop :)

So after browsing at the lovely clothes they have, just wanting everything, I decided on this lovely playsuit and cute cardigan. I ordered it mid week and it amazingly arrived yesterday! I am very impressed with the super fast delivery indeed.

I bought the playsuit in a medium, being quite tall generally means I sometimes suffer from the dreaded camel toe when wearing a playsuit. So I always prefer to have it a little on the baggy side and this fits perfectly and is very flattering. Doesn't give you the awful nappy look like some playsuits have a habit of doing.

The cardigan is one size fits all and is so soft and cosy and actually a lot warmer than it looks. Good for someone who is ALWAYS freezing like me :( It is actually as bright as it looks in the picture, I was really surprised at how lovely a coral colour it is! And goes perfectly with the playsuit, always a bonus.

The necklace was from H&M for £3.99. I have to be honest it's not a place I generally look in especially for jewellery, but I was amazed at some of the lovely things I found in there and how much of bargain it is. I even bought myself a lovely dress, but that's for another post ;)

Totally addicted to Lace

"Lace is as much about the space between the threads as it is about the threads themselves."
Lori Howe

I have a love for lace....a massive love! Something about it just makes me feel so dainty and girly when wearing it. I love the different textures and looks you can achieve and would love to give making my own lace a go! Anyone done this before? Any tips would be muchly appreciated :)

Beneath the makeup and behind the smile I am just a girl who wishes for the world

I've had a bit of a make-up shopping spree lately, had lot's of Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket and just waiting to be spent!

Here's a collection of my goodies :)

2011-01-121

1) E.L.F Cream Eyeliner
I'm really, really impressed with this Cream Eyeliner. I've been tempted to buy either the MAC or Bobby Brown versions but thought while this was only £3.50 I'd give it a go and see how I get on. Normally I use Barry M number 11 eye shadow in Black as eyeliner, which is good but can get a bit messy and also doesn't stay on very long! I tried this out yesterday and it went on very easily and the brush you get with it works really well. I did have to put on a couple of coats to get it dark enough but the smooth, creamy texture makes it so easily to apply and gives it a good look :)

2) Max Factor Lasting Lip Tint
I'd seen these lip tints in a magazine and was very excited to give them a try. I normally use the Models Own lip tint which I love but it can get a bit messy as it is quite runny and well...after one too many glasses of wine isn't the easiest to apply! Whereas these are basically like a felt tip, so a lot easier to apply and easier to be more precise with making sure that all the lip is covered. Plus they don't bleed like the liquid tints have a habit of doing. The added bonus is one coat is effective enough, although depending on how dark you want the colour you do have to add more.

3) E.L.F Mineral Infused Face Primer
I've never tried a face primer before but I thought I'd give this one a try. It comes out a bit like a gel but goes on really nicely and smoothly when you've applied it. It does actually make your skin feel nice and soft and I tried it yesterday and my make up stayed on perfectly :) It also added a bit of a glow too!

4) No7 Stay Perfect Foundation
Normally I tend to find one foundation and stick with it. At the moment it's Benefit You Rebel Tinted Moisturiser in the day and Benefit Non Fiction Foundation for if I'm going out at night. Unfortunately I'm running out of both and as much as I love them they are a little bit expensive. So I went into Boots and with the help of a lovely lady found my perfect shade and perfect foundation from No7. Now I don't know about anybody else but I always thought of No7 as a bit of an older persons make up range, but I was really wrong! As the woman so kindly pointed out I have awfully pale skin (ha, thanks for the reminder!) so she recommended I get it in Alabaster and when we tried it on my jaw line it suited me perfectly! I have to say I love this foundation it's so nice to apply and you only need to use a small amount to get good, even coverage, so it will last for ages!

5) E.L.F Eyebrow kit
I admit I have unruly eyebrows, though I guess that's not helped by the fact I'm way too lazy to bother plucking them properly. Thank god for fringes that hide them ;) But I like this product, the gel which you apply first fills in any gaps and makes eyebrows stand out a bit more and look more defined and the powder you place over the top keeps them in place. No more messy eyebrows for me, yay!

6) E.L.F 100 Eyeshadows
I've realised I NEVER wear eyeshadow and thought maybe it was time I give it more of a chance. I am quite rubbish at choosing the right colours and applying them. But this product was ridiculously cheap (I can't seem to find it on the site anymore!!) so is good to mess around with and try out different looks :)

7) No7 Skin Illuminator
For a highlighter I normally use Benefit High Beam but as the No7 products were on 3 for 2 I decided to try this one. It gives a really nice glow although the only problem I find is the brush attached that you use to apply it. It's quite a big brush and found that it is easier to apply with your fingers. Apart from that I think I've found a new replacement for High Beam :)

8) E.L.F High Definition Face Powder
Up until now I've been using sample pots of face powder from LilyLolo but I am slowly running out. When I saw this on the E.L.F website I thought it was worth a try. It's a fine white powder that goes on really nicely. It doesn't give you the over-powdery look some can give you. It helps to set make-up and keep it in place. It also gives you a nice flawless finish which is always good :) I love the cute little powder puff you get to apply it too!

9) No7 Dual Protection Tinted Moisturiser
As I mentioned before I normally use Benefit You Rebel Tinted Moisturiser and I like it but sometimes find it doesn't give you a great even coverage and can go a bit dry in patches. So this was the third part of my 3 for 2. It's a nice creamy mixture that actually goes on lightly but give amazing coverage, just enough for a natural day look. It actually is very moisturising too :) By the end of the day it looked exactly like it did when I applied it so has lastability. Plus, like the Stay Perfect Foundation you only need to use a small amount!

Phew, what a long post! Hope you've all enjoyed my little reviews :)

Oh yes, wait a minute Mr Postman...

I love, love, love getting parcels in the post. Especially when you've ordered lot's of things and it's a surprise to see what has arrived :)...yes, I admit, I am very easily pleased!

So on a mini internet shopping spree I ordered a few things...firstly ever since seeing this knotted rosary necklace on a post by LLYMLRS (whose blog I absolutely adore and am incredibly jealous of her fashion sense and style!) I decided I wanted, no NEEDED one! so after a quick hunt on Google (I unfortunately don't have an Ebay account *shock horror*) I found them on this site Rosary Heaven. They deliver really quickly and are well worth the money :) I'd defiantly recommend them.

The second parcel I received today was from this site,

I always, always look on this site and want so many things off there but this ring is the first thing I've bought from them and I'm impressed it came super quickly in a nice little box too :)

I use to have a scrabble tile necklace that I bought ages and ages ago which I loved but unfortunately I wore it to death and it broke :( so this ring is my new replacement.

Ohh, I also wanted to share this with you! It cheered me up on a boring day in work...My friend who appears to have become a right Delia Smith in the kitchen baked some cookies and made me a special one which she named 'Bondage Bear', why she though I'd love this I'll never know, hehe ;)

But meet Bondage Bear...

Haha, I won't lie he was rather yummy ;)

Hopefully my next post will be reviews on a few ELF products I've ordered. I've never used anything from them before but constantly hear good things all the time. So hopefully they arrive very soon :)

A vision in purple...

I completely forgot I picked up this Barry M nail varnish in Boots the other day! Luckily found it at the bottom of the bag on my way to throw it out...phew, would have been rather annoyed if I threw it out!

001

It's a limited addition colour just for Boots and I have to say it looks lovely on :) It's actually quite glossy and looks like you've already applied a top coat!

Another fab colour by Barry M :)

Happy 2011 :)

I don't define myself by the size of my jewellery any more...

Hi, I'm Leanne and I'm addicted to jewellery!

I went for a little wander around town yesterday and had a little scout around Topshop, meaning to look in the sales, but no the jewellery section caught my eye. Ten minutes later and my purse £40 lighter I left with a bag of goodies :)

I also got this ring from asos.com and I love, love, love it :)

I've also ordered this ring too from asos.com. I've never realised they have so many nice pieces of Jewellery on ASOS before :)
